Smart Stacks stimulate the mind keeping it alert and active, which leads to increased productivity and accuracy. Why Yellow or Green in Color?
• Specific colors are proven to increase brain activity, which can ultimately help a student's learning potential.
• Proven to positively affect learning and retention. Green is associated with nature, which relaxes the mind and eyes enabling students to study for longer periods of time. Yellow is associated with energy and happiness and is said to capture attention and increase intellect. Compared to white, these color backgrounds are much easier on the eyes thereby increasing readability.
• Dark ink on a colored back ground lessens glare as opposed to dark ink on a white background. A colored background eases eye strain, which allows students to focus longer without losing concentration.
• Studies show that colored backgrounds, as opposed to white backgrounds, drastically increase reading speed and accuracy.
Why different Shapes?
• Different shapes are used as contextual stimuli in order to avoid a monotonous learning environment. Traditional index cards provide the same background on every card. Smart Stacks uses different backgrounds, which keeps the mind active. An active mind allows students to learn and retain information faster and more efficiently.
• Each pack contains 10 unique shapes where the word being defined can be written inside.
Why light Shading?
• Shapes are shaded a slightly lighter tint than the background color in order to draw attention inward towards the words being studied. A lighter tint allows students to focus on the words they have written inside of the shape without overpowering the word. This method is unlike studying with a plain index card where your focus is undirected.
